Speaker of the House of Representatives Holds Talks with Member of the Austrian National Council, Mr. Harald Troch

Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Rachid Talbi El Alami, received on Monday, June 5, 2023, at the Seat of the House, Mr. Harald Troch, a member of the National Council of the Republic of Austria, currently on a working visit to the Kingdom on June 4-15, where he will meet several officials and perform field visits.

In their talks, the two parties commended the bilateral relations between the legislative institutions of the two countries, which have been consolidated through the Memorandum of Understanding, mutual visits, support to the efforts of the Friendship Groups within the two institutions, development of parliamentary and administrative ties, and the consolidation of dialogue, consultation, and coordination on questions of mutual concern.

On occasion, the two parties underscored the mutual respect for the territorial integrity and sovereignty of the two countries and the centrality of the UN process in resolving international conflicts in a pacific manner.

During the meeting, Mr. Harald Troch expressed his conviction and continuous support for the autonomy proposal presented by the Kingdom of Morocco to resolve the conflict over the Sahara as a credible and serious solution according to the principles and resolutions of the UN.

For his part, Hon. Rachid Talbi El Alami thanked Mr. Harald Troch for the visit and the support of the autonomy proposal. Moreover, the Speaker of the House gave an overview of the history and efforts of the Kingdom to complete its territorial integrity and highlighted the major projects and development achievements in the Southern provinces under the wise leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God glorify him.
