Speaker of the House of Representatives Rachid Talbi El Alami held talks on Friday, March 25, 2022, at the House, with the Minister of Justice of the Republic of Iraq, Mr. Salar Abdul Sattar Mohamed, and his entourage, on a visit to the Kingdom of Morocco on March 22-25, 2022.
During the meeting, the Speaker of the House of Representatives and the Iraqi Minister of Justice lauded the relations between the two countries. They also highlighted the strong historical bonds linking the Kingdom of Morocco and the Republic of Iraq, and the total and mutual support between them in various regional and international fora, especially parliamentary ones.
Mr. Rachid Talbi El Alami and Mr. Salar Abdul Sattar Mohamed stressed the importance of consolidating the exchange of legislative expertise and experiences, which would help achieve accumulation in the relations between the two countries at various facades, particularly the parliamentary ones. The two parties also underlined the importance of efficient institutional and parliamentary communication to clarify views and positions, and coordinate them at the regional and international levels.
The meeting of the Speaker of the House of Representatives and the Iraqi Minister of Justice was a chance to review the role of the legislative institution in the transformations and reforms of the justice system. In this respect, Mr. Rachid Talbi El Alami presented to Mr. Salar Abdul Sattar Mohamed and his entourage the achievements and dynamics of the Moroccan House of Representatives, which have enabled it to occupy a distinguished position at the national level and within several regional, continental, and international parliamentary assemblies and organizations, thus rendering it an institutional model.
The talks were also an opportunity to discuss and exchange views on several parliamentary and legislative questions of mutual interest.
