Speaker of the House of Representatives Holds Talks with a British Parliamentary Delegation

Speaker of the House of Representatives, the Hon. Rachid Talbi El Alami, held talks on Wednesday, June 01, 2022 at the House, with a British Parliamentary Delegation,  led by the Chair of the UK Abrahams Accords Group, the Rt Hon. Dr. Liam Fox, currently on a visit to the Kingdom of Morocco on June 1-3, 2022.

The talks held between the two parties discussed means of enhancing parliamentary cooperation between the two countries, through the establishment of bilateral and multilateral relations, Parliamentary Friendship Group, continuous communication, reflection on spaces for dialogue, and the exchange and sharing of experiences and expertise.

During this meeting, the Hon. Rachid Talbi El Alami commended the excellent relations between the two Kingdoms and the fruitful cooperation between the Moroccan Parliament and the British House of Commons. In this vein, the Speaker of the House of Representatives updated the British delegation on the political and institutional dynamism experienced by the Kingdom of Morocco, which culminated in the organization of the legislative elections of September 2021, which registered a massive voter turnout.

For his part, the Rt Hon. Dr. Liam Fox stated that his visit to the Kingdom aims at exploring all possibilities to strengthen and deepen the parliamentary cooperation relations between Morocco and the UK. In this regard, he praised the efforts made by the Kingdom of Morocco to sustain security and stability around the world, adding that Morocco has always adopted the approach of resolving conflicts by peaceful means, which enabled it to play a key role in a number of regional and international issues.
