Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Rachid Talbi El Alami received, on Thursday, September 8, 2022, at the seat of the House, the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan to the Kingdom of Morocco, H.E. Hamid Asghar Khan. The talks between the two parties covered the relations between the two countries, especially at the parliamentary level, and the means to advance them through exchange of visits, efficient and constant communication between the two parliamentary friendship groups, and coordination at the various regional and international parliamentary fora.
During their encounter, the Speaker of the House of Representatives and the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan stressed the imperative of respecting the sovereignty and territorial integrity of States and committing to international legality. The two parties also lauded the deep-rooted and strong bonds linking Rabat to Islamabad.
In the same respect, they highlighted the role of the legislative institutions of the two countries in reinforcing economic, commercial, cultural, and health-related cooperation. On the same occasion, H.E. Hamid Asghar Khan extended an invitation from the Speaker of the Pakistani National Assembly, Hon. Raja Pervaiz Ashraf, addressed to the Hon. Rachid Talbi El Alami to perform a parliamentary working visit to the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.
The meeting was also an opportunity for the two parties to shed light on the peculiarity of the parliamentary regime in both countries and the responsibility entrusted to their legislative institutions in law, government control, public policy evaluation, and consolidation of parliamentary cooperation through efficient parliamentary diplomacy that interacts with national, regional, and international questions.
The encounter between the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Rachid Talbi El Alami, and the Pakistani Ambassador, H.E. Hamid Asghar Khan, was an excellent parliamentary and diplomatic occasion to discuss and exchange views on several questions inscribed as priorities on the agenda of bilateral and multilateral parliamentary action.
