Speaker of House of Representatives Holds Meeting with Chairpersons of Parliamentary Groups and Caucus on June 15th, 2020

Speaker of House of Representatives Habib El Malki held a meeting with the chairpersons of the parliamentary groups and caucus on Monday, June 15th, 2020. The meeting was devoted to the work plan of the House.

At the beginning of the meeting, the Speaker of the House and its political components extended, with joyful and delighted hearts, their sincerest congratulations to His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God protect and preserve Him, and to the Morocco people, following the success of the surgical operation the Sovereign underwent, expressing their best wishes to His Majesty, and imploring the Almighty to protect the Sovereign, surround him with His providence, and perpetuate his health and wellness to keep Him a source of mercy and clemency for this safe country.

The participants recalled, with pride and esteem, the noble efforts of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God protect Him, to assist many African countries in their efforts to combat the Coronavirus, by providing medical aid to fifteen African countries as part of the solidarity action that falls under the initiative launched by the Sovereign in April. The structures of the House also expressed their honor and pride in this noble initiative. Besides, they seized this occasion to praise the competence of Moroccan citizen enterprises who managed to manufacture these materials in full compliance with the criteria set by the World Health Organization (WHO).

About the just Palestinian cause, the components of the House reiterated the constant principles of the Kingdom of Morocco under the wise leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God protect him, Chairperson of Al Quds Committee, which favor the rights of the Palestinian people and the establishment of a Palestinian State with Al Quds Al-Sharif as its capital. The House's components also renewed their denunciation of the successive flagrant violations of the occupying authorities by harassment, annexation of territories, killing innocent people, and hindering the peace initiative.

Concerning weekly Government control, the participants discussed the scheduling of Ministries established by the Board of the House for each sitting. The scheduling programs the Ministries of Foreign Affairs, Health, and Energy and Mining for the sitting that will be held on Monday, June 22nd.

In sight of the referral of the Amending Finance Bill to the Board of the House of Representatives, the meeting discussed and commended the constitutional and legal debate that accompanies this experience, which is the first one under the new Constitution of the Kingdom. The participants reiterated the significance of this phase as it comes amidst special and exceptional circumstances. Also, they stressed the importance of coordination with the various Government components and the House of Councilors to establish a useful and efficient methodology.
