Speaker of the House of Representatives Chairs 2023 Award Ceremony of Third Edition of the Parliamentary Press Prize

Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Rachid Talbi El Alami, chaired on Thursday, July 20, 2023, at the Seat of the House, the 2023 award ceremony of the Third edition of the Parliamentary Press Prize, where he gave an address.

On this occasion, the Jury President, Mr. Jilali Benhalima, announced the awardees while the Speaker of the House of Representatives handed them the certificates and commemorative trophies. The list of awardees was as follows:

1.     Merit Prize for a journalist that covers parliamentary action went to Mohamed Chaoui, Journalist at L’Economiste (Newspaper);

2.     Best Print Written Media went to Ghassan El Kechouri for his article in Zamane: “Why has Parliamentary Opposition Disappeared from the Kingdom’s Constitutions?”

3.     Best Digital Written Media went to Abdelhak Belchgar for his investigative article on the website Alyaoum24 on “Interpreting to Amazighe at the House of Representatives: An In-Depth Exploration of an Unprecedented Experience;”

4.     Best TV Program went to Abdelmajid Hallaoui from the National Radio and Television Company (Al Maghribia Channel) for his documentary: “Six Decades of Moroccan Parliamentary Experience: Democracy at the Service of Development and Territorial Unity;”

5.      Best Radio Program went ex aequo to:

• Najma Boubal from Radio Tamazight for the episode: “Presentation of the Moroccan Parliament through Its Participation in the International Book and Publishing Fair;”
• Jamal Belahcen from Radio Tamazight for the episode: “The Initial Record of the Government after 100 Days from its Investiture and the Role of the Parliament in Controlling Government Action;”

6.     Best picture went to Rachid Tniouni from Telquel (magazine) for a photo of a plenary sitting of the House of Representatives.
