The member of the Moroccan Representation at the Parliamentary Union of the OIC Member States, Rep. Najwa Koukouss, is taking part in the 50th meeting of the Union's Executive Committee, held in Constantine on February 15-16, 2024. The meeting also features the participation of the members of the Standing Committee on Economic Affairs and the Environment, within the scope of following the resolutions and recommendations of the 17th Conference of the Union, held in Algiers in January 2023.
In her intervention during the meeting, Rep. Najwa Koukouss recalled the tragic situation in the Gaza Strip and what its inhabitants are experiencing in terms of humiliation, destruction, siege, murder, displacement, and the loss of thousands of unarmed civilian victims in flagrant violation of international law and humanitarian principles, despite all the calls for calm and restraint made by some wise voices.
She also added that His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may Allah glorify him, called in his speech to the participants in the Extraordinary Joint Arab-Islamic Summit, held last November in Saudi Arabia, for the resilience of the human conscience to stop the murder of the God-honored human soul, and to act collectively, each from his position, to achieve four urgent priorities:
Rep. Najwa Koukouss also referred to His Majesty's order to allocate additional scholarships to Palestinian students in the Kingdom of Morocco as part of His Majesty's initiatives to support the Palestinian people and to send humanitarian and food aid through the Arab Republic of Egypt.
The member of the House of Representatives concluded her intervention by expressing her hope that the members of the Union would join forces to speed up the cessation of aggression and annihilation and to establish peace and security as quickly as possible.
