PCID: Speakers of the House of Representatives and House of Councilors Hold Intensive and Prominent Bilateral Meetings with Speakers of Parliaments and Heads of Delegations

As part of consolidating parliamentary diplomacy and the impactful presence of the two Houses of the Moroccan Parliament, the Speakers of the House of Representatives and the House of Councilors, Hon. Rachid Talbi El Alami and Hon. Ennam Mayara, held talks on Wednesday, June 14, 2023, in Marrakesh, with the Speakers of Parliaments and heads of delegations taking part in the Parliamentary Conference on Interfaith Dialogue. 

On occasion, the Speakers met with the Speaker of the Senate of Eswatini, Hon. Lindiwe Pastor Dlamini; the Speaker of the Senate of Burundi, Hon. Emmanuel Sinzohagera; the Speaker of the National Assembly of Tanzania, Tulia Ackson; the Speaker of the National Assembly of Gambia, Hon. Fabakary Jatta Tombong; the Chairperson of the Parliamentary Cooperation at the House of Representatives of Indonesia, Mr. Fadli Zon; the Speaker of the Senate of Thailand, Hon. Wichitcholchai Pornpetch, the Speaker of the Parliament of Tuvalu, Hon. Samuelu Penitala Tao; and the Minister of Islamic Affairs and Endowments in Djibouti, Mr. Moumen Hassan Bari.

The meetings covered the means to advance bilateral parliamentary cooperation and reinforce coordination in international parliamentary fora. In the same regard, all delegations commended the leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God glorify him, in strengthening interfaith dialogue and entrenching the values of peace and coexistence. They also praised the success and good organization of the Conference.
