Morocco-Germany Parliamentary Friendship Group Members Hold Talks with the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to the Kingdom of Morocco

Within the scope of advancing parliamentary diplomatic relations linking the Kingdom of Morocco and the Federal Republic of Germany, the Chairperson of the Morocco-Germany Parliamentary Friendship Group, Rep. Naima El Fethaoui, held talks on Tuesday, February 6, 2024, at the Seat of the House in Rabat, with the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Rabat, H.E. Robert Dölger, and his entourage.

At the outset of the meeting, Rep. Naima El Fethaoui underscored the quality of relations linking Morocco and Germany at all levels, which have witnessed a positive dynamic in recent years. In this respect, she noted the readiness of the House of Representatives to follow this dynamic so that it covers all bilateral cooperation areas.

Besides, Rep. Naima El Fethaoui gave a historical overview of the Morocco-Germany relations, particularly at the economic and commercial levels, as well as the diplomatic ties, which the Morocco-Germany Parliamentary Friendship Group aims to advance.

In this regard, the Chairperson of the Morocco-Germany Parliamentary Friendship Group confirmed the keenness of the Kingdom of Morocco to achieve regional stability, advance economic and commercial links, and support the institutionalization of the promising investment opportunities offered by the Kingdom to its European and Atlantic partners, under a Moroccan commitment and a strong desire to advance its bilateral relations with the other world countries following principles of efficient partnerships and economic complementarity.

Concerning the question of our territorial integrity, Rep. Naima El Fethaoui praised the German position in favor of the autonomy initiative as a political and realistic basis to resolve this conflict.

For his part, the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to the Kingdom, H.E. Robert Dölger, expressed his pride at the strong ties linking the two countries. In his statement, he gave a brief overview of the political and election system in the Federal Republic of Germany. He also highlighted the forms of political participation in the Republic, noting the longstanding German history.

On the same occasion, the two parties underscored the importance of pursuing coordination and cooperation between the two countries through intensifying meetings in order to exchange experiences and expertise in this respect.

Besides the Chairperson of the Morocco-Germany Parliamentary Friendship Group, Rep. Naima El Fethaoui, the Group members, Rep. Fatima Yassine and Rep. Jamal Sidati, also attended the meeting.
