A delegation representing the House of Representatives is currently taking part in the 14th Plenary Session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Mediterranean, taking place on February 20-21st in Athens, Greece.
The delegation involves Deputy Abdellatif Berroho, Group of Justice and Development; Deputy Mohamed El Hejira, Group of Authenticity and Modernity; Deputy Choukrane Amam, Socialist Group.
The Session’s agenda includes reviewing the reports and voting on the draft resolutions issued by the three standing committees under the Assembly, which are the Committee on Political and Security-related Cooperation, Committee on Economic, Social and Environmental Cooperation, and Committee on Dialogue among Civilizations and Human Rights.
The reports shed light on issues of concern to the Euro-Mediterranean countries, such as the security and political developments in North Africa and the Middle East, in addition to the recent terrorist threats in the region. The reports also tackle economic cooperation, trade facilitation, climate change, mass migration, and human rights consolidation.
Additionally, the Session includes the handover ceremony of the chairmanship of the Assembly, and the award of the 2020 Assembly Prize to outstanding personalities in the Mediterranean region.
