The Moroccan Parliament will host the joint meeting of the respective Trade and Transport Committees within the Pan-African Parliament. In addition to two conferences on the "Inter-African Trade in the Framework of the ZLECAF African Continental Free Trade Area Agreement" and the "Protection of Personal Data and the Digital Economy in Africa" organized in partnership with The General Confederation of Moroccan Enterprises (CGEM) for the period from March 2nd to 7th 2020.
This meeting takes place within the framework of the ongoing and distinguished dynamism in cooperation between the Moroccan Parliament and the Pan-African Parliament, since Morocco re-joined the African Union, as a part of the endeavours highlighted by the Kingdom of Morocco to achieve an economic integration in the continent by encouraging investments and trade exchanges strengthening inter-relations, and boosting development aspirations.
The two meetings, taking place with the participation of Ministers and representatives of national parliaments, regional and continental federations, and experts, and will tackle various legal, institutional, logistical and technological aspects, and the role of national parliaments in stimulating and supporting trade between African countries.
On the sidelines of this meeting, the members of the two aforementioned committees will visit the port of Tanger-Med to inquire about the potential of this port, considered as a gateway of international trade in the region.
