During the fourth meeting of the Association of Secretaries-General of African Parliaments, held on August 30-31, 2022, at the seat of the Pan-African Parliament in South Africa, on the eve of the convention of the 11th Conference of the Presidents of African National and Regional Parliaments, which witnessed the participation of the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Rachid Talbi El Alami, the Moroccan House of Representatives was elected, in the person of its Secretary-General, Mr. Najib El Khadi, to the membership in the Executive Committee of the Association.
Through the membership in Executive Committee of the Association of Secretaries-General of African Parliaments, as a first Vice-President, the Moroccan Parliament consolidates its presence within the Pan-African Parliament, which it joined in 2018 following the decision by the Kingdom of Morocco to rejoin its African institutional family, under the wise leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI in the African scene.
The participation of the Moroccan Parliament in the Executive Committee of the Association of Secretaries-General of African Parliaments will be an opportunity to reinforce the legal framework that regulates this Association, especially that the Moroccan Parliament will be member of the Committee in charge of elaborating said framework.
