Meeting of Thematic Working Group on First National Cause

The thematic working group on the national cause held a meeting on Thursday, September 6^th, 2018, under the chairmanship of Speaker of House of Representatives Habib El Malki and in the presence of its members belonging to different parliamentary groups and caucus.

The meeting is part of implementing the new mechanisms created by the novel provisions in the House’s Rules of Procedure to further entrench and institutionally regulate the parliamentary participation in all national projects.

At the start of the meeting, the Speaker of the House of Representatives and the thematic working group members highlighted the group's importance and the aspired work prospects. They also recalled the success achieved in this regard in different international forums thanks to the wise Moroccan diplomatic strategy defined by His Majesty the King, noting the full support of numerous active forces and all Moroccans of the cause of territorial integrity.

The participants also noted the necessity to pursue combatting the maneuvers of the adversaries of Morocco’s territorial integrity and refuting the separatist doctrine.

In their discussion of the mission conferred to the group, its members noted the importance of the strategic aspect of its action, which should consider the recent developments on the national cause within the United Nations, the serious provocative actions of the adversaries of the territorial integrity, the parallel plead mechanisms and media plan, and the historical and human rights acquisitions achieved in the Kingdom's southern regions.

Besides, the participants stressed the importance of communication as part of an efficient information plan based on coordination, cooperation, and concertation with all concerned parties.

At the end of the meeting, the participants formed the group’s governing body.
