Rep. Hachim Amine Chafik took part in the meeting of the Committee on Education, Communication, and Cultural Affairs under the Parliamentary Assembly of the Francophonie, which took place on April 24-25, 2023, in Ottawa – Canada, and featured the participation of several parliamentarians representing francophone countries, as well as academics, rapporteurs, and experts.
The participation is part of the follow-up by the House of Representatives of the activities of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Francophonie to deepen parliamentary dialogue, exchange experiences, and expertise, and discuss the timely themes in a global context characterized by the aggravation of crises and increase in conflict and tension zones.
The participants in the meeting exchanged views and best practices on several reports, particularly the report on the activities of the Parliamentary Network in Charge of Combatting AIDS and Malaria, and the report on the importance of French and its usage in the academic spheres of the Francophone space.
In his intervention during the meeting, Rep. Hachim Amine Chafik stressed the constant engagement of the Kingdom of Morocco in the activities of the Francophone space at all levels, noting the essential role of the Francophone space in consolidating achievements and addressing the challenges it faces.
On the sidelines of the meeting, Rep. Hachim Amine Chafik held bilateral talks with several delegations from the Francophone space to solidify the friendship bonds, open new dialogue horizons, and join the efforts of parliaments within the Francophone space.
It should be noted that the Committee on Education, Communication, and Cultural Affairs is one of the Standing Committees under the Parliamentary Assembly of the Francophonie in charge of examining and evaluating several major questions like education, training, communication, and information technologies.
