A delegation from the House of Representatives is taking part in the 2022 Arab Forum for Sustainable Development on “Recovery and Resilience,” taking place on March 15-17, 2022, in Beirut, Lebanon, under a strong partnership between the League of Arab States and the UN organizations operating in the Arab region.
The delegation of the House of Representatives is composed of:
- Rep. Nadia Thami, Deputy-Speaker of the House of Representatives (Group of Progress and Socialism);
- Rep. Mohamed Boudrika, Member of the Board of the House of Representatives (Group of the National Rally of Independents).
The agenda of the Forum comprises the discussion of several vital questions aimed at monitoring the implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development in the Arab region and to present the sustainable development goals, especially those related to good education, gender equality, and climate change, in the presence of world experts on the said matters.
On this occasion, the Moroccan delegation gave an overview of the best practices adopted by the Kingdom of Morocco in various areas related to the sustainable development goals, which aim to monitor the implementation of the development agenda, both at the level of plenary and special sessions.
It should be noted that the ESCWA was established in 1973 to stimulate the economic activity in its Members States and to consolidate cooperation, development, stability, and prosperity, to achieve a common goal: A better future for every human, which is a universal project based on equal rights and opportunities to access decent living that would be achieved through adequate economic development, social well-being, and environmental sustainability.
