House of Representatives Ratifies by Unanimity of Votes Nine International Agreements and Conventions
The House of Representatives ratified on Monday, December 20, 2021, by unanimity of votes nine international agreements and conventions. The ratification took place during a plenary sitting chaired by Speaker of the House of Representatives Rachid Talbi Alami in the presence of Minister Delegate to the Head of Government in charge of Relations with the Parliament and the Government Spokesperson Mustapha Baitas on behalf of the Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccan Expatriates.
The ratification covered two bilateral agreements with the Republics of Chad and Serbia and seven multilateral conventions, three of which concern the African level, while two fall under the League of Arab States and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, and two others are international. The ratified agreements and conventions are:
Government Bill 12.21 ratifying the Framework Agreement on Cooperation in the Energy and Mines Sectors between the Government of the Kingdom of Morocco and the Government of the Republic of Chad, concluded in Rabat on October 26, 2020;
Government Bill 45.21 ratifying the Agreement on Military Cooperation between the Government of the Kingdom of Morocco and the Government of the Republic of Serbia, concluded in Rabat on May 5, 2021;
Government Bill 21.21 ratifying the Protocol of 1988 relating to the International Convention on Load Lines of 1966, adopted in London on November 11, 1988;
Government Bill 25.21 ratifying the Statute of the Islamic Organization for Food Security adopted by the OIC’s 40th Council of Foreign Ministers, held in Conakry (Guinea) on December 9-12, 2013;
Government Bill 42.21 ratifying the Agreement of Liberalization of Trade in Services among Arab States;
Government Bill 47.21 ratifying the United Nations Convention on International Settlement Agreements Resulting from Mediation adopted in New York on December 20, 2018;
Government Bill 49.21 ratifying the African Youth Charter adopted in Banjul (Gambia) on July 2, 2006;
Government Bill 52.21 ratifying the African Union Convention on Cyber Security and Personal Data Protection adopted in Malabo (Equatorial Guinea) on June 27, 2014;
Government Bill 62.20 ratifying the Convention for Cooperation in the Protection, Management and Development of the Marine and Coastal Environment of the Atlantic Coast of West, Central and Southern Africa, adopted in Abidjan on March 23, 1981, the Additional Protocol concerning Co-operation in combating Pollution in cases of Emergency, adopted in Abidjan on March 23, 1981, as amended in 2011, the Protocol Concerning Pollution from Land-Based Sources and Activities, adopted in Grand-Bassam (Ivory Coast) on June 12, 2012, the Additional Protocol on Environmental Norms and Standards for Offshore Oil and Gas Exploration and Exploitation Activities, adopted in Abidjan on July 2, 2019 and the Additional Protocol on Integrated Coastal Zone Management, adopted in Abidjan on July 2, 2019.
