First Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rep. Mohammed Sabbari, Takes Part in the 147th IPU Assembly and Gives an Address on Occasion

The First Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rep. Mohammed Sabbari, and Head of the Moroccan parliamentary delegation taking part in the 147th Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union in Angola, expressed the pride of the Parliament of the Kingdom of Morocco at the wise and visionary historical positions of the Kingdom under the leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, the Chairman of Al-Quds Committee, in support for the Palestinian population in its struggle to achieve its legitimate rights guaranteed by all international conventions and resolutions.

In an address given on Wednesday, October 25, 2023, in Angola, before the 147th IPU Assembly, on behalf of the Moroccan Parliamentary Representation at the IPU, Rep. Mohammed Sabbari called for ending the suffering of Palestinians and putting an end to the war in the occupied Palestinian territories in a way that paves the way for diplomatic and political action, within the framework of a process that must ultimately lead to the establishment of an independent Palestinian State endowed with institutions and internationally recognized borders, and with Al Quds as capital.

On the same occasion, Rep. Sabbari highlighted the strength of the institutional edifice of the Kingdom of Morocco and the maturity of its democratic model, enabling the Kingdom, under the wise leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may Allah glorify him, to overcome two tough junctures the Kingdom went through recently, namely the deadly Covid-19 pandemic and the earthquake that struck the region of Al-Haouz and Marrakesh on September 8.

Besides, Rep. Sabbari noted that our country has established the foundations for stability, at the forefront of which the construction of a State of active institutions, the elaboration of a national model of social and economic justice, and political development, on the basis of a human rights approach, a constitutional legitimacy, and a universal approach for sustainable development, in addition to the consecration of new generations of economic, social, environmental, cultural, and linguistic rights.  In the same vein, he underscored the success of the Kingdom of Morocco in winning the sustainable development challenges by relying on democracy and strategic choices centered around the human element, the amelioration of the participation of youth and women, the Rule of Law, and comprehensive development in all its dimensions.

The members of the Moroccan Parliamentary Representation at the Inter-Parliamentary Union, led by the First Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rep. Mohammed Sabbari, are taking part in the proceedings of the 147th IPU Assembly, the 212th Session of the Governing Council and the related meetings, held in the National Assembly of the Republic of Angola in Luanda, on October 23-27, 2023.

The Moroccan delegation includes Rep. Ahmed Touizi, the Chairperson of the Group of Authenticity and Modernity, Rep. Mustapha Reddad (Group of the National Rally of Independents), Rep. Omar Hejira (Istiqlali Group of Unity and Egalitarianism), Rep. Khaddouj Slassi (Socialist Group), Cllr. Kamal Ait Mik (Group of the National Rally of Independents), Cllr. Hassan Chamis (Group of Authenticity and Modernity) and the Secretary-General of the House of Representatives, Mr. Najib El Khadi.
