Education, Culture and Communication Committee Holds Meeting on Wednesday, May 13th, 2020

The Education, Culture, and Communication Committee held a meeting on Wednesday, May 13th, 2020, under the chairmanship of the Committee’s chairperson Mohamed Mellal. The meeting was attended by Minister of National Education, Vocational Training, Higher Education and Scientific Research and Government Spokesperson Said Amzazi, and several deputies, members and non-members of the committee, through presence, and via videoconferencing.

The meeting, which lasted for more than three hours, was devoted the discussing the requests of the parliamentary groups and caucus to hold a meeting of the Committee to discuss the following topics:

1-   The preemptive and protective measures to prevent the outbreak of COVID-19 in schools and universities (Istiqlali Group for Unity and Egalitarianism),

2-   The actions that were taken by the Ministry to conduct final exams and decide the fate of the academic year (Istiqlali Group for Unity and Egalitarianism),

3-   The measures that were taken by the Ministry to face the outbreak of COVID-19 in schools and universities (Group of Justice and Development),

4-   The situation of education during the state of public health emergency, and primary evaluation of the measures taken, and the ones expected (Socialist Group),

5-   The evaluation of distance learning, and the actions that were made by the Ministry to conduct final exams (Group of Authenticity and Modernity),

6-   The planning of the Government regarding the progressive lift of lockdown concerning the educational system (Group of Authenticity and Modernity),

7-   The outcomes of distance learning, and the prospects of the ongoing academic year (Haraki Group),

8-   The planning and agenda of the Ministry about conducting final exams during the state of public health emergency (Group of Constitutional Rally).

9- The management of the educational system after the lift of the state of public health emergency and resumption of studies under the 2019-2020 academic year.
