During His Reception by the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Speaker of the Gabonese Transitional National Assembly Reiterates the Steadfast Position of the Gabonese Republic in Favor of the Territorial Integrity of the Kingdom of Morocco

Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Rachid Talbi El Alami, received on Monday, February 12, 2024, at the Seat of the House in Rabat, the Speaker of the Transitional National Assembly of the Gabonese Republic, Hon. Jean-François Ndongou, currently on a working visit to the Kingdom at the lead of a delegation of the Assembly’s members.

During the meeting, attended by the Chairperson of the Morocco-Gabon Parliamentary Friendship Group, Rep. Mohamed Amine Hormatou Allah, Hon. Jean-François Ndongou gave a presentation on the transition in the Gabonese Republic and the roadmap established to build strong institutions and achieve smooth democratic transition through transparent and fair elections that enjoy the consensus of all political categories in Gabon.

On the same occasion, the Speaker of the Transitional National Assembly in the Gabonese Republic reiterated the steadfast position of his country and its constant support to the territorial integrity of the Kingdom and the Moroccan sovereignty over the Sahara. In the same respect, he noted that the Gabonese Republic was one of the first countries to have taken part in the glorious Green March in 1975.

For his part, Hon. Rachid Talbi El Alami praised the strong brotherly bonds linking the two countries and their peoples. In the same regard, he expressed the readiness of the House of Representatives to share its experience and expertise in parliamentary action and to reinforce cooperation with the Transitional National Assembly of the Gabonese Republic in all areas of parliamentary action, notably digital transition, archives, and parliamentary administration.

The Speaker of the House also shed light on the major projects and profound reforms conducted by the Kingdom of Morocco under the enlightened leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may Allah glorify him. He also gave an overview of the history of the legislative institution, its formation, roles, and constitutional prerogatives.

Besides, the Speaker, Hon. Jean-François Ndongou, the Gabonese Transitional National Assembly delegation also comprised MP ABOUGHE OTSAGHE Charlotte, MP BIAHODJOW Germain, MP ISSEMBE Serge Aimé, and MP OSSINGA ONANGA Alban Stéphane.
