Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives Mohammed Touimi Benjelloun takes part in the 12th session of the Conference of Speakers of Legislative Assemblies and Chairpersons of Parliamentary Representations under the Parliamentary Assembly of the Francophonie, taking place on May 25-28, 2021, in Kigali, Rwanda.
The Conference, in which participate around 90 representatives from different African parliaments members of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Francophonie, takes place amidst a global context marked with attempts to address COVID-19. The Conference will discuss several important questions that concern the political, social, and health-related situation of several francophone countries, in addition to the role of the G5 Sahel Joint Force in entrenching peace and security in Sahel countries.
As part of preparing for the 28th Regional Summit of Africa, under the APF, the participants will discuss numerous topics that relate to the role that parliaments can play in the post-Coronavirus period and the prominent role of the ZLECAF, as the latter is a lever of development and inclusion in the continent. The participants will also discuss the position of women in political, economic, and social development.
Mr. Mohammed Touimi Benjelloun will hold bilateral talks with the Speaker of the Rwandan Chamber of Deputies Mukabalisa Donatille and other speakers of parliaments and heads of delegations participating in this Conference
