Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rep. Hassan Benomar, Takes Part in Fourth Edition of the Dialogue between the Chinese Communist Party and the Parties of Arab States

Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rep. Hassan Benomar, takes part in the proceedings of the fourth edition of the Dialogue of the Chinese Communist Party and the parties of Arab States on the theme: "The Exchange between Chinese Civilization and Arab Civilization: From the Ancient Silk Road to Building the Future of a Common Society in the New Era." The Dialogue took place in the People's Republic of China from July 9 to 17, 2023.

The Dialogue, attended by several Arab delegations representing political parties and Chinese Communist Party officials, is part of an exchange of ideas and national experiences aimed at strengthening the Chinese-Arab strategic partnership, particularly between China and Morocco, in a global context marked by ongoing transformations and major changes on various economic, political and security fronts.

This Dialogue takes place against a backdrop of solid cooperative relations between Hon. Rachid Talbi El Alami, Speaker of the House of Representatives, and Hon. Zhao Leji, Chairperson of the National People's Congress of China, who visited our country on May 12, 2023, at the head of a high-level delegation. The visit led to the deepening of dialogue between the two countries, the promotion of cooperation between them, and the elevation of joint legislative action between their two legislative institutions.

In his speech at the opening session of the Dialogue, Rep. Hassan Benomar expressed his warmest thanks and gratitude to the People's Republic of China for its unceasing efforts in strengthening international cooperation and organizing world conferences aimed at achieving cooperation, and this, within the framework of a shared vision to build a better future based on mutual understanding between the Arab world and China in various fields.

The Deputy Speaker also referred to the official visit of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God glorify him, in 2016 to China. This visit contributed to improving bilateral relations between the two countries and opening new horizons that have risen to the level of a strategic partnership based on fairness in dealings and the principles of exchanged benefits and common development.

In addition, Rep. Hassan Benomar stressed that the strategic partnership uniting Morocco and China is a new model for South-South cooperation, given that Morocco is a strategic and credible partner for China and offers it fertile ground for investment given its advantageous business climate, distinguished strategic position, and developed infrastructure. In the same context, he recalled the signing by Morocco and China in 2017 of a memorandum of understanding on the "Belt and Road" initiative.

The Deputy Speaker of the House concluded his speech by emphasizing the importance of enhancing the achievements between the Arab world and China, in general, and the Kingdom of Morocco, in particular. He also noted that their shared responsibility requires constructive cooperation and effective dialogue to build bridges and deepen cooperation.

This year's Dialogue also saw the organization of several parallel panels to exchange views, consolidate dialogue on the history and future of civilizational exchange between China and the Arab States, and explore opportunities for building the Belt and Road.

The Dialogue culminated in the adoption of a joint final declaration between the Chinese Communist Party and the parties of the Arab States, in which the latter affirmed their willingness to work towards the implementation of the world civilization initiative and the deployment of the necessary efforts to build a Sino-Arab community for a common future in the new era.

The declaration also called for respect for civilizational diversity in the world, the consecration of humanity's common values, the evolution of Chinese civilization and the civilization of Arab states to achieve innovative transformation and progress along the path of openness while working on the consolidation of humanitarian, cultural, and partisan exchange and cooperation, as well as making a positive contribution to the creation of a global dialogue network.

On the sidelines of his participation, Rep. Hassan Benomar held bilateral meetings with several Chinese officials, including Mr. Shi Taifeng, a member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China. During the meeting, the two sides discussed examining new mechanisms to strengthen the means of cooperation in various fields of mutual interest.

Rep. Benomar also met with Mr. Liang Yanshun, Secretary of the Communist Party of China Committee in the Ningxia Autonomous Region. On this occasion, he expressed his appreciation for the great efforts made by the Chinese Government to ensure the smooth running of the activities of this visit and to provide an environment conducive to dialogue and the exchange of expertise between participants from different countries and institutions, as well as his great optimism and willingness to continue strengthening bilateral relations between Morocco and China and to broaden the horizons of cooperation in new areas. The Deputy Speaker also highlighted the Kingdom of Morocco's commitment to strengthening mutual understanding and fruitful cooperation to achieve the common interests and destiny of the two friendly countries and peoples.
