Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rep. Hassan Benomar, received on Monday, October 31, 2022, at the seat of the House, the Head of the South Korea-Morocco Parliamentary Friendship Group, Ms. In Jae-Keun, currently on a visit to the Kingdom on October 29-November 02, 2022, with some Group members.
Attended by the Ambassador of South Korea to Rabat, H.E. Chung Keeyong, the talks covered the means to consolidate bilateral cooperation between the two countries in addition to several questions of mutual interest.
At the onset of the meeting, Rep. Hassan Benomar extended condolences on behalf of the House of Representatives following the stampede in Seoul last Sunday. Then, the two parties observed a minute of silence in memory of the victims.
During the meeting, Rep. Hassan Benomar noted the excellent ties linking the Kingdom of Morocco and South Korea, highlighting the significant achievements of the Kingdom of Morocco in recent years in various areas, namely renewable energies, Covid-19 management, and water policy.
Besides, Rep. Hassan Benomar added that the Kingdom of Morocco aspires to strengthen cooperation between the two countries in technical training, given the leadership of South Korea in the field. He also called for advancing parliamentary cooperation through exchanging experiences and expertise between the legislative institutions of the two countries. In this regard, he noted women's position on our country's political map.
For her part, the Head of the South Korea-Morocco Parliamentary Friendship Group underscored that this visit is part of the 61st anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations between the two countries, adding that said relations are constantly growing.
Speaking on occasion, the Group members commended the achievements of the Kingdom of Morocco in various areas, noting that it encloses several qualifications that are a lever to developing bilateral cooperation.
The members also called for increasing the presence of Korean companies in the Kingdom of Morocco to advance bilateral cooperation. They also noted several matters, including women's participation in political life.
