Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives Rep. Hassan Benomar received on Friday, September 02, 2022, at the House, a Belgian parliamentary delegation led by Mr. David Leisterh, currently on a working visit to our country.
During their encounter, the head and members of the Belgian parliamentary delegation highlighted the strong and historical bonds linking the Kingdom of Morocco to the Kingdom of Belgium, lauding the pivotal role the Kingdom of Morocco plays as a pole of development and stability in the region, and a bridge between Europe and Africa.
The Belgian parliamentary delegation agreed on the importance of consolidating the already strong cooperation ties between the Kingdom of Morocco and Belgium and the Kingdom of Morocco and Europe in general. They also expressed Belgium’s keenness to strengthen the friendship and cooperation ties with the Kingdom of Morocco and their expansion to wider areas. The Belgian parliamentarians commended the distinguished position of the Moroccan community and its role in the Belgian societal fabric.
For his part, the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rep. Hassan Benomar, welcomed the Belgian parliamentary delegation, noting the importance of exchanging visits between the two countries' parliamentarians in a way that opens new horizons for cooperation. He also stated that the Kingdom of Morocco has been known for its openness and commitment to the values of tolerance and peace. On the same occasion, he shed light on several reforms and projects in our country under the wise leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI.
In the same respect, he highlighted the democratic development of the Kingdom and the efforts deployed to advance the condition of women, fight extremism and terrorism and overcome the repercussions of COVID-19. The Deputy Speaker also noted the leadership of the Kingdom of Morocco in the area of renewable energies, green economy, and its keenness to manage water rationally. Rep. Hassan Benomar also reviewed the policy of the Kingdom on migration and asylum, advancing enterprises and employment, and the economic, agricultural, and industrial booming it is witnessing. He stated that "the Kingdom of Morocco is a country that is replete with energies, capabilities, and investment opportunities."
