Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rep. Hassan Benomar held talks on Tuesday, October 11, 2022, in Rabat, with the Danish Representative Mr. Nacer Khader, currently on a visit to the Kingdom of Morocco.
At the onset of the meeting, the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rep. Hassan Benomar highlighted the role of parliamentary diplomacy in consolidating relations between States. In the same respect, he noted that the House of Representatives regularly receives parliamentary delegations from various world countries.
Rep. Hassan Benomar added that the cause of the Moroccan Sahara is the top question discussed with the foreign parliamentary delegations. In this context, he said, "We explain the Moroccan position regarding the question and we inform them of the details of this artificial conflict."
Besides, Rep. Hassan Benomar expressed his satisfaction with the visit of Mr. Naser Khader , who is one of the Danish representatives that defend the cause of the Moroccan Sahara.
For his part, the Danish representative noted that the Kingdom of Morocco is a prominent country, commending the Abraham Peace Accords concluded by the Kingdom of Morocco.
The Danish representative also stressed that the Kingdom of Morocco has sovereignty over the Sahara, adding that he is keen to defend the Moroccanness of the Sahara and clarify the Moroccan position to the Danish Parliament and to the other Northern European States.
Mr. Naser Khader also called for working to find a peaceful solution to this conflict under the aegis of the United Nations.
During the same meeting, the two parties noted the importance of sharing experiences and expertise in the parliamentary field between the legislative institutions of the Kingdoms of Morocco and Denmark.
