Consolidation and Development of Cooperation Between Arab Parliaments at Heart of Talks between the Speaker of the House of Representatives and the President of the Association of Secretaries General of Arab Parliaments

Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Rachid Talbi El Alami, received on Wednesday, February 7, 2024, at the Seat of the House in Rabat, Dr. Ahmed bin Nasser Ibrahim Al-Fadala, the President of the Association of Secretaries General of Arab Parliaments and Secretary-General of the Qatari Shura Council, and his entourage, currently on a working visit to the Kingdom at the invitation of the two Speakers of Arab Parliament on February 6-10, 2024.

The talks focused on highlighting the major projects launched by the Kingdom of Morocco under the wise leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may Allah glorify him. The meeting also featured a brief overview of the Moroccan parliamentary experience on the occasion of the 60^th anniversary of the first elected Parliament in the Kingdom, as well as the experiences of the Arab Parliaments and the objectives and missions of the Association of Secretaries-General of Arab Parliaments.

During the debate, the two parties stressed the centrality of cooperation in joint Arab parliamentary action and the importance of exchanging experiences, advancing and ameliorating the measures and mechanisms of parliamentary activity, exchanging visits, and holding joint meetings to reinforce continuous dialogue and communication and coordinate positions between the Arab Parliaments.
