The Moroccan Parliament will host on March 16-18, 2023, in Marrakesh and Ben Guerir the proceedings of the Committee on Social Affairs, Health, and Sustainable Development and the Network of Contact Parliamentarians for a Healthy Environment under the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE).
The agenda of the Committee on Social Affairs, Health, and Sustainable Development includes the ratification of the draft minutes of the preceding meetings held in Strasbourg and the determination of the date and time for the next sessions.
The participants will also discuss some questions: “Safeguarding democracy, rights and the environment in international trade,” “Public health emergency: the need for a holistic approach to multilateralism and health care,” “Sustainable energy transition,” “Right to housing,” and other themes inscribed in the agenda.
On the other hand, the meeting of the Network of Contact Parliamentarians for a Healthy Environment will feature the presentation of the Moroccan experience in access to potable water and the exchange of views on clean energies and the Kingdom's evolution in this area. The gathering will also feature interactive workshops at the Mohammed VI Polytechnic University in Ben Guerir.
The meeting will feature the participation of several parliamentarians from the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, Moroccan parliamentarians, Government officials, experts, and other figures.
The Moroccan Parliament has enjoyed the status of a partner for democracy within the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe since 2011. The Moroccan parliamentary representation at the PACE takes part in its meetings, while the Moroccan Parliament had previously organized several gatherings in cooperation with the Assembly.
The Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe is the parliamentary wing of the Council of Europe (CoE), which gathers 46 European States. The Assembly comprises parliamentarians representing the national parliaments of the CoE Member States.
