As part of the project "Support to the development of the role of the Parliament in consolidating democracy in Morocco 2020-2023", the House of Representatives of the Kingdom of Morocco and the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) are organizing on March 23, 2022 at the seat of the House of Representatives – Rabat, a colloquium on “Evaluation of Public Policy on Administration Reform.”
The event will be attended by the Chairperson and members of the Thematic Working Group in charge of Evaluating of the 2018-2021 National Administration Reform Plan, the Head of the national representation of the Parliament of the Kingdom of Morocco to PACE, the Head of the Cooperation Section, the Delegation of the European Union to Morocco and the Head of the Office of the Council of Europe in Morocco.
Academics and experts from Morocco and several European countries will give presentations on comparative practices. This round table will allow the members of the thematic working group and the officers of the House of Representatives to exchange with their counterparts, European parliamentarians, PACE members and international experts from Germany, France, Italy and the United Kingdom on good practices in public administration reform, including the issues of decentralization, digital transformation and the ethics dimension in public administration. The participants will discussthe major challenges of administration reform and the methodological aspects of public policy evaluation in this area.
This colloquium is part of the Joint Program to " Support to the development of the role of the Parliament in consolidating democracy in Morocco 2020-2023" funded by the European Union and implemented by the Council of Europe. The program is structured around three main axes: valuing the Moroccan Parliament's effort to effectively conduct the monitoring and evaluation of public policies, its openness to citizens, civil society and other partners, the efficient promotion of parliamentary democracy in Morocco, the support of the Kingdom's parliamentary diplomacy, and the reinforcement of the inter-parliamentary dialogue between the Moroccan Parliament and its counterparts from neighboring countries and Council of Europe’s Member States.
This project is being implemented in line with the specific needs and cooperation priorities of Morocco, jointly defined by the Council of Europe and the Moroccan authorities in the framework of the Neighborhood Partnership with Morocco 2018-2021.
