Chairperson of the Public Finance Control Committee Receives Delegation of the Legislative Assembly of Transition in Burkina Faso

Chairperson of the Public Finance Control Committee, Rep. Latifa Lablih, received on Tuesday, November 7, 2023, accompanied by the members of the Committee, Rep. Sofia Tahiri and Rep. Chafika Lachraf, and the Chairperson of the Morocco-Burkina Faso Parliamentary Friendship Group, Rep. Ibrahim Bendidi, a delegation of the Legislative Assembly of Transition in Burkina Faso, led by Mr. Sanou Yaya, Deputy Chairperson of the Finance Committee.

At the onset of the meeting, the Chairperson of the Public Finance Control Committee welcomed the Burkinabe delegation, wishing them a joyful stay in the Kingdom of Morocco. Following that, Rep. Latifa Lablih gave an extensive presentation where she noted that finance control falls under the consecration of good governance principles, linking responsibility to accountability and rationalizing public life, as entrenched by the Kingdom's Constitution.

During the same meeting, Rep. Latifa Lablih shed light on the missions of the Committee with regard to public finance control, particularly in the annual control program, the discussion of the thematic reports of the Court of Accounts, and the examination and vote on Liquidation Bills.

For his part, Mr. Sanou Yaya thanked the Chairperson of the Committee for her presentation that enabled the delegation members to explore the Moroccan experience in public finance control. He later gave the floor to the delegation members to raise questions and exchange the practices in force as regards public finance control.

The Chairperson of the Public Finance Control Committee concluded the meeting by stressing the strong desire of the House of Representatives and the Public Finance Control Committee to establish cooperation ties with the Legislative Assembly of Burkina Faso, and its readiness to exchange experiences and best practices in all fields related to public finance control.

For his part, the head of the Burkinabe delegation thanked the Chairperson and members of the Committee for their warm welcome and their answers to the various questions of the Burkinabe delegation.
