Chairperson of the Morocco-Kazakhstan Parliamentary Friendship Group, Rep. Abdelkader Taher, received on Wednesday, March 6, 2024, at the Seat of the House, the Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the Kingdom of Morocco, H.E. Saulekul Sailaukyzy.
At the onset of the meeting, Rep. Abdelkader Taher welcomed the Ambassador and noted in his welcoming remarks the depth of the relations linking the Kingdom of Morocco and the Republic of Kazakhstan and heir historical depth. He also noted the passage of the famous Moroccan voyager Ibn Battouta from Kazakhstan in the 14th century.
For her part, the Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan shed light on the manifestations of the bonds uniting the two countries, including the exchange of visits between their officials and several twinning agreements between their cities, such as the twinning agreement concluded in 1981 between Meknes and Almaty, as well as the student coming from Kazakhstan to Morocco.
She also invited the Speaker of the House of Representatives and the Morocco-Kazakhstan Parliamentary Friendship Group to perform a working visit to Kazakhstan to further discuss the parliamentary questions of mutual interest.
The meeting was also an opportunity for the two parties to underscore the importance of reinforcing cooperation between the two legislative institutions in a way that contributes to solidifying relations between the two countries at the economic, commercial, tourism, cultural, and air transport levels.
