Chairperson of the Justice, Legislation, and Human Rights Committee Holds Talks with the Chairperson of the Committee on Human Rights and Humanitarian Aid at the German Bundestag

The Chairperson of the Justice, Legislation, and Human Rights Committee at the House of Representatives, Rep. Mohamed Fadili, held talks on Thursday, March 9, 2023, at the seat of the House in Rabat, with the Chairperson of the Committee on Human Rights and Humanitarian Aid at the German Bundestag, Ms. Renata Alt, currently on a working visit to our country.

The talks between the two parties during the meeting attended by the Ambassador of Germany to Rabat, H.E. Robert Dölger, covered several questions relating to women's rights in the Kingdom of Morocco.

In this respect, Rep. Mohamed Fadili shed light on the gains achieved by Moroccan women at all levels, noting particularly the amending laws adopted by the House of Representatives during the current legislative term, namely the two laws on family solidarity and Moroccan citizenship.

Rep. Fadili also noted the launch of a public debate to consolidate the implementation of the law on combatting violence against women and the Family Code. In this regard, he gave several figures and information on girls' education and violence against women in our country.

For her part, the Chairperson of the Committee on Human Rights and Humanitarian Aid at the German Bundestag noted that her visit aims to explore the development the Kingdom of Morocco has achieved in all areas, particularly with regard to women's rights.

On the same occasion, Ms. Renata Alt expressed her country's will to reinforce the friendship and cooperation ties with the Kingdom of Morocco, stressing the importance of the engagement of girls and women in training, education, access to the job market, and contribution to the development of the Moroccan economy.
