Chairperson of the Foreign Affairs Committee, Rep. Nadia Bouaida, Holds Talks with Chairperson of the Kuwait-Morocco Parliamentary Friendship Group

The Chairperson of the Foreign Affairs, National Defense, Islamic Affairs, and Moroccan Expatriates Committee, Rep. Nadia Bouaida, held talks on Wednesday, January 24, 2024, at the Seat of the House, with the Chairperson of the Kuwait-Morocco Parliamentary Friendship Group, MP Hamad Mohammed Al-Matar, currently on a visit to the Kingdom at the lead of a delegation of the Kuwaiti National Assembly.

At the onset of the meeting, Rep. Nadia Bouaida welcomed the visit of the Kuwaiti parliamentary delegation to the Kingdom, noting that it will contribute to reinforcing and solidifying the historic and fraternal ties linking the two countries and their brotherly peoples, as well as the ones between their two legislative institutions.

Besides, Rep. Nadia Bouaida shed light on the prospects of consolidating cooperation between the two countries, particularly with regard to investment. In this respect, she added that the Investment Charter adopted by the Kingdom offers several opportunities and incentives to foreign investors.

Rep. Nadia Bouaida also informed the Kuwaiti parliamentary delegation of the national energy strategy and other major projects launched by the Kingdom at the continental level, mentioning specifically the project of the gas pipeline linking Nigeria to Europe via the Kingdom of Morocco.

During the same meeting, Rep. Laila Dahi and Rep. Aïcha El Gourgi noted the importance of this visit in reinforcing cooperation between the Moroccan House of Representatives and the Kuwaiti National Assembly, given that it is an opportunity to discuss all the matters of mutual concern.

Rep. Laila Dahi invited the Kuwaiti delegation to visit the southern provinces of the Kingdom to explore the development and progress manifestations they feature.

For his part, the Chairperson of the Kuwait-Morocco Parliamentary Friendship Group praised the good ties uniting the two countries, and the stability and security they enjoy. He also noted that the aim behind this visit is to explore the means for strengthening economic, cultural, and scientific cooperation between the State of Kuwait and the Kingdom of Morocco.

The Head of the Kuwaiti parliamentary delegation also lauded the enormous efforts deployed by His Majesty King Mohammed VI as Chairperson of Al-Quds Committee in preserving the Islamic, Arab, and civilizational identity of Al-Quds. He also reiterated his country's unwavering and positive position regarding our territorial integrity and in favor of the autonomy plan proposed by the Kingdom.

MP Hamad Mohammed Al-Matar extended a formal invitation to the members of the Foreign Affairs Committee to perform a work visit to the State of Kuwait.
