Chairperson of the Foreign Affairs Committee Holds Talks with Deputy Speaker of the Czech Chamber of Deputies

Chairperson of the Foreign Affairs Committee, National Defense, Islamic Affairs, and Moroccan Expatriates Committee at the House of Representatives, Rep. Nadia Bouaida, held talks on Monday, March 20, 2023, at the seat of the House in Rabat, with the Deputy Speaker of the Czech Chamber of Deputies, Mr. Jan Skopeček, currently on a working visit to our country at the head of the delegation of the members of the Czech Parliamentary Committee on European Affairs.

During the meeting, the two parties highlighted the prospects and means for reinforcing cooperation between the two countries, particularly in energy, trade, education, and health, in addition to the ways of solidifying the cooperation ties between the two legislative institutions.

On occasion, Rep. Nadia Bouaida underscored the role of parliamentary diplomacy in consolidating the cooperation ties between the two friendly countries, noting that the Kingdom of Morocco and the Czech Republic have the potential that can give a strong push to bilateral cooperation.

Besides, Rep. Nadia Bouaida stressed the imperative of reinforcing parliamentary cooperation between the Committees on Foreign Affairs in the two Houses by exchanging visits and sharing expertise.

For his part, the Deputy Speaker of the Czech Chamber of Deputies expressed his hopes of reinforcing economic cooperation between the two countries. Moreover, he added that the institutional twinning project linking the Czech Chamber of Deputies to the Moroccan House of Representatives would strengthen the bilateral ties between the two countries.

Moreover, Mr. Jan Skopeček invited the members of the Foreign Affairs Committee to visit the Czech Republic.

The meeting was attended, from the Moroccan side, by Rep. Nadia El Kansouri and Rep. Sidi Saleh Idrissi.

The meeting was attended from the Czech side by H.E. Ladislav Skerik, Ambassador of the Czech Republic to the Kingdom of Morocco, and the members of the Parliamentary Committee on European Affairs at the Czech Chamber of Deputies: Mr. Ondrej Benesik (Chair of the Committee), Mr. Petr Fifka (Vice-Chair of the Committee), Ms. Jana Berkovcová, Ms. Andrea Babisová.
