The Chairperson and members of the Morocco-Croatia Parliamentary Friendship Group are performing a working visit to the Croatian capital, Zagreb, from February 27 to March 3, 2024, upon the invitation of MP Domagoj Hajduković, the Chairperson of the European Affairs Committee and the Croatia-Morocco Parliamentary Friendship Group at the Croatian Parliament.

The visit falls within the scope of implementing the mechanisms and forms of institutional cooperation between the Moroccan and Croatian Parliaments at the parliamentary level, with a view to advancing an effective parliamentary partnership that reflects mutual understanding and cooperation. The visit follows the outcomes of the parliamentary meeting held in Rabat with the Chairperson of the Croatia-Morocco Parliamentary Friendship Group on July 13, 2022. It is an occasion to discuss and exchange views on the best practices between parliamentarians, share expertise and experiences, and debate questions of mutual concern.

The itinerary of the visit includes several important talks at the Croatian House of Representatives, mainly with the Speaker of the House, the Croatia-Morocco Parliamentary Friendship Group members, and the Chairperson and members of the Foreign Affairs Committee. During the meetings, the parties will discuss the mechanisms for exchanging expertise and consulting regularly between the two parties on questions of mutual concern, as well as building capacities and coordinating on a bilateral level at the multilateral parliamentary organizations.

Besides, the Moroccan parliamentary delegation should hold other talks with several officials of essential departments in the Croatian Government, such as the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs, the Ministry of Tourism and Sports, and the Ministry of Agriculture. The meetings aim to support the national interests and economic development, as well as to debate the means for cooperation between the two countries in order to contribute through parliamentary diplomacy to reinforcing bilateral cooperation between the Kingdom of Morocco and the Republic of Croatia at the political, economic, social, and cultural levels.
