Speaker of House of Representatives Habib El Malki received Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Morocco, Mr. Li Li, at the Headquarters of the House on Friday, July 3rd, 2020. The Ambassador paid a farewell visit to the Speaker of the House upon the end of his diplomatic duties in the Kingdom.
The Ambassador seized this occasion to extend his country’s consideration to the efforts of His Majesty King Mohammed VI to assist African countries in fighting the Coronavirus pandemic. In this respect, he stated that “Morocco is a model for other countries in managing this pandemic.” In the same context, he commended “the significant assistance provided by the Kingdom of Morocco to the People’s Republic of China at the beginning of the spread of this pandemic.”
Mr. Li Li highlighted the strong friendship ties linking the two countries, and the regularity of exchange of expertise and experiences during this phase, praising the increasing amount of cooperation and consultation between them in recent years. He added that “the House of Representatives plays an important role in consolidating relations between the two countries.” He also stressed the existence of multiple great opportunities for cooperation between Morocco and China, which should be seized. Besides, the Ambassador commended the Kingdom’s willingness to formulate an advanced development model that meets the present and future challenges.
For his part, the Speaker of the House of Representatives noted the distinguished relations linking the two countries, which have gone through a qualitative leap in recent years, including cooperation relations at the parliamentary level. The Speaker also lauded the willingness of both countries to cooperate and coordinate with each other to address the pandemic, noting that the People’s Republic of China is a pioneer in this area.
On this occasion, Mr. El Malki reviewed the remarkable Moroccan experience in dealing with the Coronavirus pandemic and mitigating its economic and social repercussions. He also shed light on the enlightened vision of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, who spared Morocco many dangers resulting from the pandemic. In this context, he stated that “His Majesty King Mohammed VI prioritizes the life of Moroccan citizens over anything else.”
