A high-level Moroccan parliamentary delegation is taking part in the 18th Session of the Conference of the Parliamentary Union of the OIC Member States (PUIC), held in Abidjan on March 2-5, 2024, on the theme: "Climate change in the world: What response from the Member States?"
Led by Rep. Najwa Koukouss (Group of Authenticity and Modernity), the Moroccan delegation comprises Rep. Mohamed Chebbak (Group of the National Rally of Independents), Rep. Khalid Chennak (Istiqlali Group of Unity and Egalitarianism), and Cllr. Khalid Setti.
The first day of proceedings of the 18th Session of the Conference featured the convention of the 51st Session of the PUIC’s Executive Committee. During the Session, the Kingdom of Morocco was elected Vice-Chair of the said Committee, representing the Arab Group.
The order of business of the first day also features the convention of the Fifth Meeting of the Association of the PUIC Secretaries General, the 12th Meeting of the Palestine Committee, the Third Meeting of the Committee on the Affairs of Muslim Communities and Minorities, and the consultative meeting of the Arab Group.
According to organizers, the 18th Conference will also feature the renewal of the Union’s Committees, including the Executive Committee, the General Committee, and the Standing Specialized Committees.
