Speaker of Moroccan House of Representatives Sends Message of Congratulations to Newly Elected President of European Parliament

Speaker of the House of Representatives Rachid Talbi El Alami addressed a message of congratulations to H.E. Roberta Metsola upon her election to the Presidency of the European Parliament. Here follows the full text of the message:

Madam President,

It is with great pleasure that I received the news of your election to this highly important position of President of the European Parliament.

On this joyous occasion, I wish to express, in my name, and on behalf of all the members of the Moroccan House Representatives and the members of the Morocco-EU Joint Parliamentary Committee, my heartfelt congratulations and wishes for success in accomplishing the noble mission you have been rightly entrusted.

It goes without saying that your long and rich experience and virtues are an excellent asset for promoting cooperation between Europe and its partners and giving it new impetus to enable it to rise to the numerous challenges it faces.

I am of the conviction that your management will further strengthen the friendship and cooperation ties that link our two institutions.

I would also like, on this occasion, whether as part of our two legislative institutions or under my presidency of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Union for the Mediterranean, to reiterate my firm will and full readiness to work closely with you to fortify the cooperation and friendship relations linking our two institutions for the mutual interest of the peoples of the Mediterranean and to give fresh momentum to our friendship and esteem ties that keep advancing.
