Chairperson of the Morocco-Australia Parliamentary Friendship Group, Rep. Anouar Sabri, held talks on Wednesday, October 30, 2024, at the Seat of the House in Rabat, with an Australian parliamentary delegation led by Rep. Rowan Ramsey, currently on a working visit to the Kingdom until November 2, 2024.
At the onset of the meeting, Rep. Anouar Sabri highlighted the strong bonds linking the two countries since the establishment of diplomatic ties between them in 1976, reflected by the reinforcement of cooperation through the opening of the Embassies of both countries, which enables the convergence of views, the reinforcement of common positions in international fora, and the exploration of new cooperation horizons in diverse areas like renewable energies, education, and economic development.
Rep. Anouar Sabri also gave a presentation on the initiatives launched by the Kingdom of Morocco as regards reinforcing social and health inclusion, global health coverage, the development of infrastructure and services, the advancement of sustainable agriculture and rural development, the strengthening of the local economy, the guaranteeing of food security, and the protection of the environment.
During the meeting, the two parties stressed the importance of cooperation between the two countries and the exchange of experiences, expertise, and innovative solutions in clean energies, sustainable agriculture, water management, green economy, and academic, cultural, and tourism cooperation.
Alongside the Chairperson of the Morocco-Australia Parliamentary Friendship Group, Rep. Anouar Sabri, the meeting featured the attendance of Rep. Marwa El Ansari, Rep. Aziz Lebbar, Rep. Ibrahim Abba, and Rep. Mostafa Brahimi.
It should be noted that the Australian parliamentary delegation includes, alongside Rep. Rowan Ramsey (Liberal Party of Australia), Rep. Steve Georganas (Labor Party), Sen. Hollie Hughes (Liberal Party of Australia), Rep. Michael McCormack (The Nationals Party), and Rep. Warren Entsch (Liberal National Party of Queensland).
