Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rep. Mohamed Sabbari, Receives Parliamentary Delegation of the Committee for Culture and Education of the Vietnamese National Assembly

Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rep. Mohamed Sabbari, received on Thursday, September 19, 2024, at the Seat of the House in Rabat, a parliamentary delegation of the Committee for Culture and Education of the Vietnamese National Assembly, currently visiting the Kingdom. 

The meeting was an opportunity to praise the quality of the friendship bonds linking the Kingdom of Morocco and the Socialist Republic of Vietnam and to recall the significant milestones that contributed to strengthening said bonds. 

In this respect, Rep. Mohamed Sabbari noted that both countries share a history of struggle for independence, noting that the "Moroccan Gate" located in Northern Hanoi testifies to that. 

During the meeting, the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives underscored the willingness of the House to enhance cooperation and exploit all the available opportunities to anchor and advance the bilateral relations between the two countries at all levels within the mechanisms of parliamentary partnership and cooperation. 

Besides, Rep. Mohamed Sabbari noted that the Kingdom of Morocco considers Vietnam one of its friendly allies in Asia, which requires exploring new mechanisms to advance relations between the two countries. 

For their part, the Vietnamese parliamentary delegation showed pride at this meeting and expressed their readiness to work together to support the questions of mutual parliamentary concern. In this regard, the Vice-Chairperson of the Committee for Culture and Education, MP Ta Van Ha, gave an overview of the main historical and diplomatic highlights of the distinguished ties between Vietnam and the Kingdom of Morocco, which started in 1961 and were reinforced through dialogue, consultation, and cooperation, thus requiring the advancement of said relations to higher levels given that the Kingdom is a gate to Africa. 

The two parties also called for reinforcing bilateral cooperation to advance bilateral and multilateral parliamentary relations and coordinate within the various regional and international parliamentary fora. 

The meeting featured the presence of the Ambassador of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam to the Kingdom of Morocco, H.E. Le Kim Quy.
