Chairperson of the Morocco-Indonesia Parliamentary Friendship Group Holds Talks with His Indonesian Counterpart

Chairperson of the Morocco-Indonesia Parliamentary Friendship Group, Rep. Abdellatif El Fouiker, received on Wednesday, September 4, 2024, at the Seat of the House in Rabat, the Chairperson of the Indonesia-Morocco Parliamentary Friendship Group, Rep. Aboe Bakar Al-Habsyi, and the Group members, in the presence of the Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia to Rabat, H.E. Harsul Azwar, within the scope of the visit of the delegation to the Kingdom of Morocco on September 1-6, 2024. 

The meeting was an occasion to discuss the bilateral ties between Morocco and Indonesia and the means of advancing them. In this respect, Rep. Abdellatif El Fouiker lauded the historically and culturally anchored relations between the two countries. He also expressed his hopes of reinforcing and advancing them towards broader horizons.

During the encounter, Rep. Abdellatif El Fouiker gave an overview of the House of Representatives, the diversity of its formation, and the peculiarity of its functions and missions. In the same regard, he noted that the House of Representatives is committed, within the scope of parliamentary diplomacy, to anchoring parliamentary relations and granting them the necessary attention and diligence to serve the common causes. 

For its part, the Indonesian parliamentary delegation underscored the strength and depth of the relations linking the Republic of Indonesia and the Kingdom of Morocco and shed light on the historical course of said anchored bilateral links. In the same respect, the members of the delegation expressed their hopes of strengthening and advancing the economic and commercial ties between the two countries. 

On the same occasion, the two parties stressed the importance of intensifying efforts to seize all the available opportunities to anchor the partnership relations between the two countries through exchanging visits and sharing experiences. 

Besides the Chairperson of the Morocco-Indonesia Parliamentary Friendship Group, Rep. Abdellatif El Fouiker, the meeting featured the attendance of the Group members: Rep. Mohamed Lamkhantar, Rep. Ouassila Sahli, and Rep. Sofia Tahiri.

The Indonesian parliamentary delegation includes, alongside the Chairperson of the Friendship Group, Rep. Vita Ervina, Rep. Mufti Aimah Nurul Anam, Rep. Wenny Haryanto, Rep. Djohar Arifin Husin, Rep. Maman Imanul Haq, Rep. Netty Prasetiyani, and Rep. Guspardi Gaus.
