Republic of Azerbaijan: Delegation of the House of Representatives Takes Part in the Parliamentary Elections Observation Mission on September 1, 2024

A delegation of the House of Representatives took part in the observation mission of the parliamentary elections organized in the Republic of Azerbaijan on September 1, 2024. The delegation included Rep. Mohamed Sabbari (First Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives – Group of Authenticity and Modernity) and Rep. Mohamed El-Hejira (Member of the National Representation at the Parliamentary Network of the Non-Aligned Movement – Group of Authenticity and Modernity). 

The Moroccan participation in the observation of the parliamentary elections in the Republic of Azerbaijan is of peculiar importance as it reflects the constant support of the Kingdom of Morocco for reinforcing democratic principles and political participation. 

During their mission, the members of the delegation visited several polling stations to witness the course of the elections, observe their different phases, and ensure their compliance with international standards.

In this respect, the members of the parliamentary delegation commended the excellent conditions and coherent organization of the elections, noting that they took place within a positive atmosphere that reflects the democratic spirit and the openness characterizing the electoral system in the Republic of Azerbaijan. 

Upon the conclusion of their mission, the members of the Moroccan parliamentary delegation expressed their satisfaction with the degree of transparency and organization marking the elections. They also noted the desire of the Kingdom of Morocco to pursue the reinforcement of cooperation with the Republic of Azerbaijan in different areas in a way that serves the interests of the two brotherly populations and contributes to achieving further progress and democracy in both countries.
