Speaker of the House of Representatives Habib EL MALKI received on Wednesday, August 11, 2021, at the House, Chairperson of the Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee at the Israeli Knesset Ram Ben Barak, currently visiting our country as a part of an official delegation.
The talks between the two parties focused on ways of promoting cooperation between the two countries and its prospects, especially after the resumption of their diplomatic relations and the conclusion of a tripartite agreement on the matter between the Kingdom of Morocco, the United States of America, and Israel in late 2020.
On this occasion, the two parties confirmed the role played by the Moroccan Jewish community in consolidating the cultural and human ties linking the two countries. They also commended the distinction of the Moroccan civilizational and cultural identity, rich in its various components, including the Hebrew as one of its key elements as described in the Constitution of the Kingdom of Morocco.
They further noted the privileged position and high esteem the Israelis and the Moroccan Jewish community have for HM King Mohammed VI, may God be with him, and for the late their Majesties King Mohammed V and King Hassan II, may God bless their souls.
They also emphasized the importance of parliamentary diplomacy in promoting dialogue and opening new prospects for cooperation and understanding between peoples and its significant role in converging views and consolidating South-South cooperation, which remains one of the strategic orientations of the Kingdom of Morocco.
Finally, the two parties expressed their ambition to strengthen relations between the legislative institutions of the two countries in a way that helps deepen dialogue, reach convergence of views and serve development, peace, and stability in the region.
