A delegation of the House of Representatives is taking part in the 16th Plenary Session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Mediterranean, taking place on March 9-10, 2022, in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates.
The delegation comprises:
- Rep. Mohammed Ihouiyet (Group of the National Rally of Independents);
- Rep. Kelthoum Naim (Haraki Group).
The session's agenda includes the discussion and vote on draft reports and resolutions issued by the three standing committees of the Assembly, namely the Committee on Political and Security-related Cooperation, the Committee on Economic, Social and Environmental Cooperation, and the Committee on Dialogue among Civilizations and Human Rights.
The reports that will be presented during this session shed light on prominent issues to the countries of the Mediterranean, particularly the security and political developments in the MENA region, the growing terrorist threats, economic cooperation, the means to facilitate commercial operations, climate change, consolidation of human rights, the governance of education and migration.
The session also features the participation of several decision-makers from the Federal National Council of the United Arab Emirates, the United Nations, other international organizations and institutions from the private and academic sectors. It also features the announcement of the winners of the 2022 Prize of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Mediterranean for prominent figures in the Mediterranean region.
