A parliamentary delegation representing the Justice, Legislation, and Human Rights Committee at the Houses of Representatives and Councilors is participating amongst the Moroccan delegation in the interactive dialogue of the 41st Session of the Fourth Cycle of the Universal Periodic Review Mechanism, taking place on November 8-12, at the seat of the Human Rights Council in Geneva.
The parliamentary delegation includes, from the House of Representatives:
- Rep. Khadija Oualbacha;
- Rep. Houria Didi;
- Rep. Rabia Bouja;
- Rep. Aicha Zelfa;
And from the House of Councilors:
- Cllr. Aziz Mouknif;
- Cllr. Chaimaa Zemzami;
- Cllr. Soulaima Zaidani;
- Cllr. Mohammed Belafkih.
The Session features the presentation and discussion of the national report of the Kingdom of Morocco before the Human Rights Council, in alignment with the international commitments of the Kingdom of Morocco in the area of human rights and positive interaction with the UN human rights mechanisms. The Session will also be an opportunity to highlight the constant choice of the Kingdom in defending and preserving human rights in translation of the strategic vision of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God glorify and assist him.
It should be noted that this review forms an opportunity to share the leading experience of the Kingdom of Morocco in the area of human rights, its commitment to the UN conventions, and the measures it has taken to implement the recommendations given during the previous reviews, which it had pledged to follow. It is also a chance to shed light on the recent developments in human rights in our country.
