Moroccan Parliamentary Delegation Holds Bilateral Meeting with the Portuguese Parliamentary Delegation on the Margins of the Global Parliamentary Conference on Migration

Within the framework of its participation in the Global Parliamentary Conference on Migration, co-organized on 20-21 June 2022 in Istanbul – Turkey, by the Inter-Parliamentary Union and the Grand National Assembly of Turkey on the theme "Parliaments and the Global Compacts on Migration and Refugees: How to Bring About Stronger International Cooperation and National Implementation?”, the Moroccan parliamentary delegation held a bilateral meeting with its Portuguese counterpart.

The meeting touched on the excellent relations between the Parliament of the Kingdom of Morocco and the Assembly of the Portuguese Republic, which are based on friendship, cooperation, exchange of experiences, defense of common interests, and the promotion of cooperation and coordination in all international, regional and sub-regional fora on issues of common interest, namely women and youth issues.

The meeting also focused on ways to strengthen communication, dialogue, and bilateral consultations between the Moroccan Parliament and the Assembly of the Portuguese Republic at all levels, primarily through the activation of the two parliamentary friendship groups.

It should be noted that the Moroccan parliamentary delegation taking part in the work of this conference includes:

  • Rep. Ahmed Touizi, Chairperson of the Group of Authenticity and Modernity;
  • Rep. Mustapha Reddad, Member of the Group of the National Rally of Independents;
  • Rep. Khdouj Slassi, Member of the Socialist Group;
  • Cllr. Kamal Ait Mik, Member of the Group of the National Rally of Independents;
  • Cllr. Hassan Chamis, Member of the Group of Authenticity and Modernity.
