The Moroccan Parliament hosts, on December 4-5, 2022, the Second Edition of the Pan-African Parliament’s Youth Dialogue, organized by the Pan-African Parliament.
The official inauguration of the Dialogue will be presided over by the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Rachid Talbi El Alami, the Speaker of the House of Councilors, Hon. Naam Miyara, and the President of the Pan-African Parliament, Hon. Fortune Zephaniah Charumbira.
During the first day, the participants will discuss several themes related mainly to the "Role of Parliaments in youth empowerment;" "African Union's methodology to empower and include youth;" "Youth empowerment through the current legal and continental pledges of the Member States to address the question of youth empowerment;" and the "Role of human rights and law supremacy in strengthening the role of youth."
The works of the Dialogue will go on for a second day where the participants will cover other themes: "The Legislative branch and civil society: potential partners in youth empowerment;" and "How can youth utilize the Agenda 2063 to end famine and malnutrition?" The participants will also tackle the question of the "Empowerment of legislative bodies to promote the role of youth in ending famine and malnutrition."
The Second Pan-African Parliament's Youth Dialogue will also feature the presentation of the Moroccan experience in youth empowerment, which includes the provision of adequate circumstances for youth emancipation and enabling them to take the lead in development questions.
The goal behind this Second Pan-African Parliament's Youth Dialogue is to contribute fruitfully to achieving the African Union's goals, particularly those related to ending famine and malnutrition and consolidating social and economic rights.
It should be noted that Rep. Laila Dahi was elected Chairperson of the Youth Caucus in the Pan-African Parliament on July 2, 2022, during the ordinary session of the Fifth Legislative Term of the Parliament, held from June 27 to July 2, 2022, in Johannesburg, South Africa.
