Kingdom of Morocco and the PACE: 11 Years of Partnership for Democracy

The Moroccan Parliamentary Representation is taking part in the Fourth Part-Session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE), held in Strasbourg on October 10-14, 2022.

The Session takes place amidst a peculiar context characterized by the desire of the member and partner States of the PACE to prepare for the post-Covid19 period, and the absence of a clear vision to address the current global security situation.

Given its status as a partner for democracy at the PACE for more than a decade, the Moroccan Parliament is a role model for new partners who wish to get involved in this innovative framework of cooperation between the North and the South.

The Moroccan Parliament, after conducting three positive evaluations, has started to reflect thoroughly alongside the various bodies of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe on the horizons of developing their partnership towards a further advanced status.

In addition to participating in the plenary session and various meetings of the committees, the members of the Moroccan delegation also held several talks with members of other national representations within the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe. The talks tackled multiple questions of mutual concern.
