Education, Culture, and Communication Committee at House of Representatives Examines Two Government Bills on Museums
The Education, Culture, and Communication Committee held a meeting on Tuesday, January 5th, 2021. The meeting was chaired by the Committee Chairperson Mohamed Mellal and attended by Minister of Culture, Youth, and Sports Othman El Ferdaous. It was devoted to the general discussion of the following two Government bills:
1- Government Bill 55.20 amending and supplementing Law 01.09 establishing the National Museums Foundation,
2- Government Bill 56.20 on museums.
The works of the meeting revolved around the discussion of the provisions of the two Government bills, mainly the ones on the consolidation and improvement of the action of the National Museums Foundation at the level of its missions and competences, to make this strategic foundation more efficient and allow it to acquire mechanisms that would help in the cultural outreach in our country and adapt the public and private local museums to the internationally accepted standards.
