Education, Culture, and Communication Committee Discusses Public Sector Channels

The Education, Culture, and Communication Committee held a meeting on Tuesday, May 25, 2021. The meeting was presided by the Committee Chairperson Mohamed Mellal and attended by the Minister of Culture, Youth, and Sports, the General Director of the National Broadcasting and Television Company (SNRT), the General Director of SOREAD 2M, and the Director of Al-Amazighiya Channel.

The meeting tackled several topics relating to the public sector channels raised by the representatives of the parliamentary groups and caucus in their requests for holding the meeting.

A second meeting took place on Tuesday, June 1, 2021, chaired by Rep. Khadija Ziyani and tackled several topics relating to the financial and managerial situation of the National Broadcasting and Television Company (SNRT), SOREAD 2M, and the evaluation and execution of rulebooks on the public sector channels. The meeting also discussed other topics that concern the review of the ten years of the operating of Al-Amazighiya Channel and the assessment of the television shows aired during Ramadan.

The representatives reacted positively to the topics during their diverse and exhaustive statements, which culminated in several answers and clarifications by the Minister of Culture, Youth, and Sports, the General Director of the National Broadcasting and Television Company (SNRT), the General Director of SOREAD 2M, and the Director of Al-Amazighiya Channel.
