Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rep. Hassan Benomar, received on Tuesday, February 28, 2023, at the seat of the House, a Canadian parliamentary delegation on the sidelines of its participation in the meetings of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Francophonie (APF), hosted by the Moroccan Parliament on March 1-2, 2023.
The Canadian parliamentary delegation is composed of Mr. René Villemure (Bloc Québécois), Deputy Chairperson of the Canadian Representation at the APF, Mr. Joël Godin (the Conservative Party), and Ms. Marie-France Lalonde (Liberal Party).
During the meeting, Rep. Hassan Benomar and the Canadian delegation praised the quality of the ties linking the two friendly countries and their people. Besides, the two parties discussed several questions related mainly to consolidating parliamentary cooperation between the Kingdom of Morocco and Canada.
On the same occasion, Rep. Hassan Benomar briefed the Canadian delegation on the major achievements of the Kingdom of Morocco in recent years under the wise leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God glorify him, in several vital areas.
Moreover, the two parties also covered questions related to the Francophonie in the world. In this respect, they stressed the importance of working hand-in-hand and reinforcing dialogue with a view to addressing the challenges facing the Francophonie.
The meeting was an opportunity for the Deputy Speaker of the House to reiterate the House’s condemnation of the vicious and repetitive attacks of the European Parliament against the Kingdom of Morocco, noting that the Kingdom does not accept lessons from any party.
