A delegation from the House of Representatives is taking part in the 4th Session of the General Assembly of the African Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions (AFROSAI), held from October 31 to November 4, 2022, in Monrovia, the capital of Liberia.
The House of Representatives is represented by a parliamentary delegation of the Public Finance Control Committee, including:
- Ms. Latifa Lablih, Chairperson of the Public Finance Control Committee, and member of the Authenticity and Modernity Group;
- Mr. Ibrahim Ajnin, Vice-Chairman of the Public Finance Control Committee, and member of the Justice and Development caucus;
- Lahcen Saadi, member of the Public Finance Control Committee, and member of the National Rally of Independents Group,
The agenda of this session included a series of topical themes, including budgetary efficiency. In this regard, Ms. Lablih reviewed Morocco's experience in public finance control and financial governance, as well as the important role played by the Public Finance Control Committee in the House of Representatives, expressing her hope that the meeting would provide an opportunity for a fruitful exchange of expertise and good practices in the field of public finance.
The meeting was marked by the presence of His Excellency George Manneh Weah, Head of State of Liberia, who met with the Moroccan parliamentary delegation and expressed his appreciation for the strong friendly relations between his country and the Kingdom of Morocco. On this occasion, he also expressed his wish to visit the Kingdom soon.
It should be noted that the African Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions (AFROSAI) was established on 2 September 2013 in Tanzania, to strengthen parliamentary oversight, financial transparency in Africa, the exchange of expertise among its members, and the development of cooperation between AFROSAI members and other institutions such as the Pan-African Parliament.
